Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of import policies on social welfare, especially from the perspective of farmers who are food producers. The method used in this study is a descriptive analysis method that utilizes secondary data as the main material, sourced from official documents, journals, and books presented in the form of easily understandable descriptive narratives. The results of this research found that import policies impact the fluctuation of food prices in the domestic market, while local products have to compete with imported goods of above-average quality, resulting in a reduction in the income of farmers. On the positive side, the impact of importing food materials ensures the availability of food for the community, especially in times of crisis. Additionally, it enables farmers to access technology to improve the quality of their harvests and contributes to the stability of food prices in the domestic market. Therefore, it can be concluded that import policies are designed by the government, taking into account the needs and stability of the domestic market to meet the needs of the community.
